2024 American Advertising Awards Winners

AAF-Akron held its 79th annual American Advertising Awards celebration, on Friday, March 1 at The Akron Civic Theatre. The celebration was emceed by Sara Shookman and featured  tasting stations sponsored by Big Eu’es BBQ, Hibachi Xpress Dino Style, Saffron Patch Akron and Waterloo Restaurant & Catering, a gallery of entries, Akron RubberDucks mascot Webster and a dessert after-party onstage sponsored by Essential Dipped Delights. 250 professionals and students from Akron, Canton, Kent, Massillon and Youngstown advertising communities attended.

Of the 233 professional entries submitted for this year’s competition, 23 gold and 35 silver ADDYs were awarded to agencies, organizations and individuals, which included Best of Show, three Judge’s Choice awards, one Mosaic ADDY, one Best Agency Project and one Best In-House Project. There were also 41 student entries which resulted in 10 gold and 16 silver ADDYs, including a Student Best of Show.

Akron Art Museum took home Best of Show for Keith Haring at Akron Art Museum.

Clever won a Judge’s Choice award for Alta Suicide Prevention Ad done for Alta Care Group. TRIAD won a Judge’s Choice award for Foundry Fest Invitation done for TRIAD. A final Judge’s Choice was awarded to Secret Creative Org. for Foster Care Awareness Campaign done for Firefly Children & Family Alliance.

A Mosaic ADDY was awarded to Clever for Alta Black History Month done for Alta Care Group.

Best Agency Project went to GIGANTO for Voice Mail Song done for Primanti Bros.

Best In-House Project went to Surgere for Company Prospectus done for Surgere.

Alex Miller, a student at Kent State University School of Visual Communication Design, won Student Best of Show for Ray-Ban Annual Report Website.

Voted by attendees as having the best tasting station, Hibachi Xpress Dino Style won a First Place AdverTaster Award.
