2022 American Advertising Award Winners

AKRON, OH (February 18, 2022) – The Akron Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF-Akron) held its 77th annual American Advertising Awards celebration on Friday, February 18, at The Akron Civic Theatre. The hybrid celebration was emceed by AAF-Akron Web Chair/Vice President Garrick R. Black, II and featured a variety of tasting stations sponsored by local restaurants, a gallery of entries, Akron RubberDucks mascots Webster and Orbit and a dessert after party on stage. Professionals and students from the Greater Akron, Canton, Kent, Massillon, and Youngstown advertising communities attended.


Of the 217 professional entries submitted for this year’s event, 24 gold and 43 silver ADDYs were awarded to agencies, organizations and individuals, which included the Best of Show, three Judge’s Choice awards and one Mosaic ADDY. There were also 64 student entries which resulted in 6 gold and 12 silver ADDYs, including a Student Best of Show.

TRIAD took home the Best of Show award for its “North Pole Adventure” done for Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. AfterMath, Appleridge Production and Clever each received a Judge’s Choice award. Todd Biss Productions won a Mosaic ADDY – awarded to the work that exemplifies a spirit of diversity and inclusion. Kayleigh Heavilin, a student at The University of Akron, won the Student Best of Show for her “Trevor Project Campaign for Good” entry.
