Building and Living Brands Today – It Takes Years to Build and Three Tweets to Destroy.
Deborah Van Valkenburgh is senior vice president and director ofstrategic brand management and marketing services for The PNC Financial Services Group. She oversees all company-wide brand-related strategies and marketing communications efforts. In addition, she is also responsible for managing the agency-of-record relationship, other agency partners and internal resources to ensure optimal creative execution, integration and deployment through the appropriate outlets, channels and mediums.
Van Valkenburgh joined PNC through its acquisition of National City Corporation in December 2008. She has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry in all phases of brand management, marketing and product development, advertising and communications. She joined National City in January 2002 as the manager of Brand Management and was named co-director of Marketing in 2008. From 1991 to 1996, she served as managing director of Marketing for FedEx Latin America.
Van Valkenburgh served as a board member for the National Aquarium in Baltimore, MD, and the YMCA of Cleveland.
She has a bachelor of arts degree in Journalism from the School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Minnesota.
